This month, we would like to highlight the Austin Community College System for their efforts on YouTube. Many websites and organizations focus on college students who attend community colleges and their supports and barriers. Here are some helpful resources for people who are interested in community colleges and recent statistics/demographic data/projections.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board provides the following resources:

Online Institutional Resumes
This feature enables users to enter the institution type (i.e. - community colleges) and to select the individual institution by name (i.e. - Panola College). Then users choose either the "Prospective Students, Parents and the Public" report card or the "Legislators and Other Policy Makers" report card. The report for legislators and policy makers report card features the following information: enrollment by year, funding, total academic costs, and student success (persistence, graduation rates, etc.)

The Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC)
This organization includes over 50 public community college districts in Texas.This organization's principal concern is the General Appropriations Bill and legislation affecting community colleges in Texas.

TACC Overview

TACC Job Bank
Another great feature of this website is the job bank (http://www.tacc.org/job_bank.htm). This job bank provides links to the human resources webpage of each of the public community colleges in Texas.

TACC - Virtual College of Texas
A final feature of the TACC website is the Virtual College of Texas (VCT) link - (http://www.tacc.org/vct.htm). The VCT is a list of each of the internet courses offered at each of the public community colleges in Texas. This feature enables current and future community college students to take several internet courses at one time from several different universities.
