When Student Behavior Becomes a Media Crisis: Mitigation and Recovery

Readers,

A fellow Graduate Student, Cynthia Sullivan, and I will be updating the blog on the first and fifteenth of each month with Higher Education articles that we find interesting and will relate to a chosen topic for the upcoming months. The December topic is Student Conduct.

This article published by Academic Impressions depicts the trials and tribulations Duke University has been facing the past years with student conduct and its effect on the University.

Enjoy!

I call it the plane crash effect, when something that is relatively rare gets tons of media attention. It paints the picture that this type of thing is more prevalent than it really is.
