NAGAP Announces Research Grant ~ Deadline for Submission December 15


The National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the concerns of individuals working in the graduate admissions and recruitment environment. The NAGAP Graduate Student Enrollment Management Research Grant is designed to encourage emerging knowledge and understanding of the complexities of graduate enrollment management including all aspects of admissions and recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation in higher education. The grant is open to all graduate students who desire to conduct research in the wide range of graduate enrollment management activities and programs including any aspect of recruiting, enrolling, retaining and graduating professional, masters, and doctoral level degree students.

This award includes:

 *   $2,500, payable directly to the individual researcher. NAGAP will not pay institutional overhead or indirect costs.
 *   One year of NAGAP membership with full privileges.
 *   Travel to and registration for the NAGAP national conference during the year of the award.
 *   Recognition at the NAGAP national conference.

Two Great Opportunities from the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE)

Here's a great opportunity for some TACUSPA members (found on the AERA listserv)! We will try to post opportunities and CFPs (Call for Proposals) for higher education/student affairs journals, etc. on our blog (in addition to our regular posts).


The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE), Inc., is now accepting applications for two fellowship programs: (1) The AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program (GSFP) and (2) The AAHHE Junior Faculty Fellows Program. Applications are due October 1, 2010.

Graduate and Faculty Fellows will attend the 2011 AAHHE National Conference: "Creative Solutions for Challenging Times in Higher Education," which will be held March 3-5, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, TX. Participation in both fellowship programs will begin on Tuesday March 1st, continue throughout the conference, and end on the evening of Saturday March 5th. The deadline to submit an application for the 2011 AAHHE/ETS Outstanding Dissertation Competition is September 7th. Please refer all to the AAHHE web site, 
www.aahhe.org, for additional details regarding the competition and to access the the required application forms.

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans supports green card holders, naturalized citizens, or the child of at least one naturalized parent for up to two years of graduate study in any subject at any US higher education institution. A first year graduate student would be eligible. The fellowship provides $25,000 plus 1/2 tuition (up to $20,000 per academic year).
