Some higher education judicial affairs/student conduct offices are utilizing online social media to communicate their policies and procedures. Here are some examples:





While Binghamton University is using youtube.com to communicate with their students, the University of San Francisco is using twitter to communicate with their students.

ASCA 

One of the largest organizations for judicial affairs is Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA). This organization is for higher education administrators who work directly with judicial affairs. This organization has over 1,700 members in North America and these members represent over 800 colleges and universities.

ASCA offers various educational opportunities to it's members. Some of these educational opportunities include: an annual conference, the Gehring Academy, and various professional development opportunities.

Texas belongs to ASCA District 5, which includes Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. In fact, Ryan Van Dusen (Texas Tech University) is one of their representatives. The Director-At-Large for Circuits 5 and 10 is Jennifer Hammat (University of Texas at Austin). If you would like more information about ASCA on a local level, please contact either Ryan or Jennifer.

February 2010 - Judicial Affairs (An Overview of the Month's Posts)


Happy February! This month's blog posts are focused on judicial affairs! Almost every college and university has a judicial affairs office at their institution. This month, we will:
- focus on current judicial affairs literature
- feature a list of judicial affairs offices in Texas
- focus on local, state, and national judicial affairs organizations
- feature a list of judicial affairs local, regional, and national 
- highlight current issues in the judicial affairs field
