- Applicants must be TACUSPA members. TACUSPA membership dues are only $20.00 for graduate students and $40-$45 for professional memberships. Here is the membership application link - http://www.tacuspa.net/Forms/MbrApp10.pdf

- Proposals should be limited to five pages plus the application/researcher forms. The proposals may be single spaced with double spaces between paragraphs and references.

- Do not include the names of the researchers in the proposal, rather on a separate sheet of paper, list the names and qualifications of the researchers. This provides for “blind” review. The researchers’ institution may be identified.

- Proposals and applications must be e-mailed by Friday, April 16, 2010 by midnight to jtedwards@tarleton.edu. Emailed submissions should be in Microsoft Word format.

THE PROPOSAL REVIEW PROCESS AND EVALUATION CRITERIA:
The Graduate Education and Research Committee will review applications, and applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision in late May. The check for the winning research study will be awarded at the TACUSPA Fall Conference. The successful applicant must agree to present findings at a fall conference within two years of the grant award, submit the research for publication, and sign agreements regarding compliance with TACUSPA policies and terms of the award and compliance with IRB requirements.

Research proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:
1. Purpose of the research
2. Soundness of the research design
3. Relevance of research to student development and/or student affairs work, generalizability, and
usefulness of findings to others in the profession and to Texas higher education
4. Originality, creativity, and coherence of overall project
5. Technical quality of the proposal (i.e., references, writing style, compliance with APA style manual, etc.).
